De Filipino Parish Netherlands die haar diensten in de Amsterdamse oud-katholieke kerk houdt, hield op 28 juli haar tweede jaarvergadering na haar oprichting in 2011. De vergadering werd bezocht door een kleine dertig deelnemers, wat een goed beeld geeft van het gemiddelde kerkbezoek. De maandelijkse diensten van de parochie, vaak met levendige koorzang, worden geleid door pastor Cesar “Ces” Taguba en pastor Peter-Ben Smit.
De parochie is klein en heeft weinig financiële middelen, maar levendig en heeft grote aandacht voor onderling pastoraat en de ondersteuning van mensen in nood, zoals ook uit het jaarverslag blijkt, dat begint met dank aan de oud-katholieke kerk:
“We say salamat to the Old Catholic Church for the use of this beautiful church building, for its support, for linking us to the wider community of fellow Christians and for facilitating the visit of Filipino churchworkers like Rev. Fr. Dr. Terry Revollido and Rev. Fr. Noel Dacuycuy. We note with deep gratitude that the Old Catholic Church supported the campaign for the rights and protection of the undocumented and the call for peace based on justice in the Philippines.
During the program period, we participated in the following events: a) the memorial meeting held in this church, for Willem Geertman, a Dutch volunteer who was victim of extra-judicial killing in the Philippines. b). the anniversary of the SKIN where we contributed Filipino dishes c). a getting-to-know-you meeting with the Parish Council of the Old Catholic Church, Amsterdam d). regular and special meetings of SKIN. (association of migrant churches in the Netherlands). We planned for a medical/health consultation for our members and their friends. Our treasurer, Luti gave information about dental services.
We co-sponsored the showing of the film “Migrante” and showed the film “Au Pair”. We held a joyous Christmas party. We planned for holding an Au Pair Recognition Sunday. Recently, we forwarded a proposal to SKIN to vigorously campaign against the criminalization of the undocumented in the Netherlands.”
Verder staat er in het verslag ook het volgende te lezen over gehaalde doelen:
“ Linkup with the port chaplaincy programs to reach out to our Filipino seafarers making port calls in the Netherlands. Once again, Rev. C.T. Taguba is invited to tape a Christmas/New Year message for the Filipino seafarers.”
“Develop program of solidarity with the poor, deprived and oppressed in the Philippines. We made financial donation to the typhoon victims (see financial report); hosted a sharing with visiting groups from Kadamay (urban poor organization in the Philippines), and Au Santiago, the widow of Willem Geertman.”
Liturgie en diaconaat gaan zo hand aan hand in deze parochie; kan dat een inspirerend voorbeeld zijn voor de Oud-Katholieke Kerk zelf?
